Beginning Readers

One of my favorite collections is Beginning Readers. It contains some of the best characters that truly resonate with young readers.

I like to, personally, categorize Beginning Readers into separate camps. Parents, and educators, use this collection to:

  • Teach little ones how to read. These "burgeoning readers" (my own terminology) are new to sight words and are just beginning to learn to sound out new words phonetically.
  • Provide early readers with material to read that is increasingly more difficult as they begin to read independently.
  • Inspire a love of books by reading fun stories aloud to older preschool and younger school-age kids who are not quite ready to listen to an entire chapter book.
Book Lists:
  1. Beginning Readers for Burgeoning Readers
  2. Beginning Readers for Independent Readers
  3. Fun Beginning Reader Read-Alouds
