For the last week of November, and our final week of storytimes before taking a break for the month of December, we learned about being thankful, saying "thank you" in sign language, and turkeys.
Books:
Over the River: A Turkey's Tale - Derek Anderson
Apple Cake - Dawn Casey
Thanks for Thanksgiving - Julie Markes
Bear Says Thanks - Karma Wilson
Activities:
1. Apples in a Bowl (repeat from the Trees storytime from a couple weeks ago)
2. Turkeys Went Out to Play
One turkey went out to play,
On a bright Thanksgiving day.
He had such enormous fun,
He called for another turkey to come.
"HEY, TURKEY....gobble, gobble, gobble, gobble."
3. The Leaves on the Trees (Tune: "Wheels on the Bus")
The leaves on the trees turn orange and red,
Orange and red, orange and red.
The leaves on the trees turn orange and red,
All around the town.
Repeat with:
The leaves on the trees come twirling down
The leaves on the ground go swish, swish, swish
